Meet the Staff


Ainsley Nelson
Editor-in-Chief
Ainsley is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from Door County, Wisconsin, majoring in anthropology with certificates in African studies and gender and women's studies. Her free time is spent with friends, dancing, cross-stitching, or listening to music. During the summer, she prep cooks and waits tables at area restaurants in Door County.
 


Alexa Grunwaldt

Alexa is a junior at the University of Wisconsin majoring in Economics with a certificate in German. Having studied German from a young age, she is particularly interested in the differences between American and European social institutions. In her spare time, Alexa is an avid reader of the New Yorker and enjoys listening to music and writing.

 

Hannah Kitslaar

Hannah is completing her final year of undergraduate studies, anticipating a degree in Russian Language & Civilization, International Studies with a focus in Global Security. During the summer of 2016 she studied at the International University in Moscow, where she had the opportunity to engage with a multitude of Russian organizations and citizens from various backgrounds. Her current research interest lies in the evolution of European Union security policy in response to Russian influence in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Following graduation, she looks forward to pursuing a career in foreign service and diplomacy.

 
Noelle Stadler

Noelle is a sophomore studying political Science and German. She is especially interested in the stability of different types of governments. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and spending time with her friends and family.

 
Rebecca Hanks

Rebecca is a freshman from Urbana, Illinois studying International Studies and Political Science. She is interested in anything related to international policy and language, and hopes to work in foreign service some day. When she's not in the Wisconsin Historical Society library, she enjoys playing piano, reading, watching movies, and hanging out with her friends

 
William Maher

Will, a freshman from St. Paul, Minnesota, is pursuing degrees in International Studies, Political Science and Economics. He will begin the intensive Russian Flagship Program next semester. In his free time, Will enjoys reading, running and watching sports.

 
 
Laura Bunn

Laura is a junior from Madison, Wisconsin, majoring in International Studies and Spanish. She is particularly interested in conflict resolution and international diplomacy. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, music, and art.
